Ms Adella Toulon-Foerster is a virtual asset legal professional and entrepreneur with a background in technology spanning over 20 years; from the earliest gold asset backed digital currencies to Blockchain and convertible crypto currencies. Ms Toulon-Foerster received her LLB (Hons.) from the Nottingham Law School and her LLM from the George Washington University School of Law with her 2013 legal thesis, “Bitcoin - Strength in Numbers", assessing Bitcoin's existing legal framework and proposing fundamental adjustments to adequately address nascent decentralized financial systems.. Notably, Ms Toulon-Foerster previously served as a Partner at the Cogent Law Group in Washington DC as cryptocurrency law lead and, as Interim CEO at Local Bitcoins USA, one of the earliest layer 1 cryptocurrency exchanges. She has lectured on cryptocurrency law at several universities and is currently conducting research on legal frameworks for governmental organizations. Ms Toulon-Foerster was recently named #2 of the top 50 women in technology in the Caribbean. She is also a mother, avid bibliophile and a practitioner of Mixed Martial Arts.
